Want to be our intern? #HireMeHyundai

As you probably know by now, we like doing things differently here at Hyundai. So when we were approached by our HR department about a new six month paid College Graduate Internship Program, we were excited about the opportunity to help give someone a fresh start in this industry that we love. Along with our pals in the Marketing department, we’re staying true to our “Defy, Design and Delight” internal mantra by conducting our PR department intern search a little differently.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s graduate between Winter 2011 and Spring 2012 with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to work at our Costa Mesa, CA headquarters
  • Expertise with office tasks and software
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with short deadlines (we call it “Hyundai speed”)

For the PR Department, we’re looking for the best and brightest interns who know their way around the social universe and share the same passion for cars that we do; people who are eager to learn the ropes of automotive PR and are not afraid to share new ideas. They have no problem looking right when everyone else is going left, in true Hyundai spirit. Our new intern will spend six months learning the ins and outs of a busy PR department. This will involve working with different teams to help with social media, product launch and auto show event planning, media monitoring, and press fleet support. For the Marketing Department, we’re looking for an intern who has a passion for project management, analytics, and has a knack for identifying opportunities for improvement. Our Marketing intern will work on one of the industry’s best CRM teams, helping coordinate campaigns, reviewing performance analytics, supporting our owner website and helping with social media activities for new vehicle launches. It will be a busy six months but our intern will gain valuable experience in a key marketing function. To see the complete job description and list of requirements, click here.

Application Process
If you’re interested, we’d like to hear from you! The process is simple. Just tweet us a link to your video resume using hash tag #HireMeHyundai by Monday, June 4, 2012. We’ll be monitoring and reviewing video submissions. If we like what we see, we’ll contact you via DM on Twitter. If you’re one of the chosen few, we’ll set up an interview and review your transcripts. If everything checks out, we’ll schedule an in-person panel interview for final selection. The selected interns will start on July 9.

Video Resume
Your video resume should be no longer than one minute. Use your video to tell us about why you’d be the best Hyundai intern. Think of it as your “elevator pitch,” which you probably learned about in school. Besides those rules, you’re free to be as creative as you’d like.

  • that all sounds sweet, unfortunately, i live in Pittsburgh and go to school in the state. I really like what you guys are doing and i hope everything goes well.

    • There’s no problem as long as you’re able to work in the USA after college and can work in our Southern California headquarters. While there’s no guarantee for hire, we would like to have someone that wants to start a career at Hyundai beyond the six month internship.

  • i love marketing/pr and i love the automotive biz but i’m not a recent graduate. i’m about to begin my masters in integrated MarCOM. can I apply?

    • Curtis, sorry for the late reply. We were asking for recent bachelor’s grads for this program. Be sure to keep an eye out on Hyundai.com’s careers page for more opportunities!

    • We closed the application process fairly quickly. We’d love to hear from you though so be sure to keep an eye out on Hyundai.com’s careers page for more opportunities.
